BPW's Mission is to achieve equality for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, and information.

BPW's Legislative Platform is to support the legislation and funding of programs that promote its goals, objectives, and mission statement.

BPW's Mission Statement:   BPW/USA and BPW/WA promotes full participation, equity, and economic self-sufficiency for working women.

BPW's Preamble: The Alice Paul Equal Rights Amendment shall stand first, foremost, and above all other items which may appear on the stated legislative agenda of this federation until equal legal rights for women and men become guaranteed in the United States Constitution, because all statutory law derives therefrom.

The Alice Paul Equal Rights Amendment:    Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any stated on account of sex, becasue all statutory law derives therefrom.

BPW/WA Advocates:

Economic Self-Sufficiency for Women:   adequate and equitable pay; equal opportunity in the work place; equal education opportunities at all states of life; affordable, quality dependent care; and, access to training opportunities.

Appropriate Health Care for Women:   Reproductive choice; full access to all reproductive health services and education; funding for research into and protections for women's health care needs; and, development of a national health care plan recognizing the special health care needs of women.

Protection of Individual Rights:   Equal rights and remedies for women in all phases of their lives; freedom from sexual harassment and violence against women; and, support affirmative action.
